The New Orleans Pelicans have waived Jerome Jordan, the team announced Friday.
The 7-foot center signed a training camp deal less than a week prior to his release.
He was brought in after Greg Smith - their initial targeted big man - failed his physical.
Jordan played 44 games with the Brooklyn Nets last season, posting averages of 3.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 8.7 minutes per game.
The Pelicans roster now sits at 19 players.
