Jazz waive Cotton and Graham, roster at 15
Barring an unforeseen trimming of the roster below the 15-man maximum, the Utah Jazz have their 2015-16 squad set.
The Jazz announced they waived Bryce Cotton and Treveon Graham on Tuesday. The roster now stands at 15, so it looks as if Elijah Millsap, Jeff Withey, and Chris Johnson have made the team on contracts that aren't fully guaranteed. It remains possible the Jazz make further cuts, especially if an intriguing name hits the waiver wire in the coming week.
Cotton signed a pair of 10-day contracts last season before earning a non-guaranteed contract that ran through this season. The point guard with the insane vertical jump appeared in two preseason games, scoring 13 points with one assists in 34 minutes while shooting a woeful 4-of-19 from the floor.
He looked better in his brief audition last year, averaging 5.3 points in 10.6 minutes over 15 games. From here, he could head back to the D-League, where he averaged 22.4 points while hitting 45.2 percent of his threes last year.
Undrafted out of VCU, Graham was picked up in mid-August after catching Utah's eye in summer league action with the San Antonio Spurs and as the MVP of the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in May. He played 18 minutes over two exhibition games, scoring one point with two rebounds.
