Jerry West: Michael Jordan would be 'wonderful' as the NBA logo
Although it was Jerry West's silhouette that inspired the iconic NBA logo, the Los Angeles Lakers legend is not averse to a change.
And West - nicknamed "The Logo" by fans - has the perfect person in mind: Michael Jordan.
The 1969 NBA Finals MVP told HuffPost Live on Monday that he would love to see the former Chicago Bulls star as the logo.
"I hate to say it's not a Laker, but Michael Jordan. He's been the greatest player I've ever seen," explained West. "And I'm probably a harsh judge of talent in the sense that I admire players that are really good defensive players and really good offensive players. And I felt that at his time in the game, he was the best defensive player in the game, but more importantly he was the best offensive player. And he made his teams win."
West says that he would be fine with the league changing the silhouette on the logo. "That doesn't concern me," he said.
