Wilbekin missed practice Thursday due to a right ankle sprain and will sit out Friday's preseason game against the Celtics, Tom Moore of Calkins Media reports.
Analysis:
Wilbekin didn't enter training camp with much hope of claiming a roster spot, but with Kendall Marshall and Tony Wroten slow to recover from ACL tears and Nick Stauskas dealing with a stress reaction in his leg, he now looks to be in decent shape to crack the Sixers' opening night roster. However, Wilbekin will have to first demonstrate that his own injury isn't anything too severe, or else he could be at risk of getting cut if the Sixers are simply looking to have more healthy bodies at guard to begin the season.
