The Los Angeles Lakers waived guard Jabari Brown on Monday, giving veteran Metta World Peace the final spot on the team's 15-man roster for the upcoming season, according to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

Brown, 22, played 19 games for Los Angeles near the tail end of last season on a series of 10-day contracts. He averaged 11.9 points on 41.2 percent shooting, including 1.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 29.9 minutes per game.

Lakers forward Julius Randle will be happy to know World Peace will be playing alongside him during his sophomore year. "We're a better team with Metta," Randle said Wednesday. "It's not our decision if he's on the team or not. But Metta's knowledge and wisdom that he brings to this team is amazing."

World Peace signed a one-year, non-guaranteed contract on Sept. 24. He had been working out with the team for a month before he was signed.

The 35-year-old World Peace was a member of the Lakers' 2010 championship roster, averaging 11 points, 4.3 rebounds, and three assists that year. He last suited up for 29 games in 2013-14 with the New York Knicks before being waived after the trade deadline.
