Grizzlies waive Ryan Hollins
Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports
The Memphis Grizzlies waived center Ryan Hollins Monday, the team announced.
Hollins, 31, is a journeyman center with nine years of NBA experience on his resume. He's played for seven different teams over his NBA career, and spent last season with the Sacramento Kings.
In seven preseason games with the Grizzlies, Hollins averaged 5.4 points and three rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game.
Hollins is fairly mobile for someone standing a legitimate seven feet tall, although he's never been one to crash the glass - a career 6.6 rebounds per 36 minutes - or produce points around the basket during his career, outside of put-back attempts and transition buckets.
His departure ensures that big man Jarnell Stokes will break camp with the Grizzlies.
