Report: Pacers decline 4th year option on Solomon Hill
The Indiana Pacers did not pick up their team option for the fourth year of guard Solomon Hill's contract, Yahoo's Shams Charania reports.
Hill had a $2.3-million option - an insignificant figure given next season's projected salary cap figure of $90 million - but his poor showing thus far apparently prompted the Pacers to pass on a potential bargain.
The 24-year-old Hill averaged 8.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists while playing in all 82 games for the Pacers last year. Those modest averages were accompanied by 39.6 percent shooting from the floor and 32.7 percent accuracy from deep. The team was also 9.6 points worse per 100 possessions with Hill on the floor last season.
The Pacers drafted Hill 23rd overall in the 2013 NBA Draft. He will become a free agent next summer.
