How must a defender feel when the ball-handler they're guarding manages to get past them and score while losing one of their sneakers in the process?

It doesn't happen very often, but Trevor Ariza of the Houston Rockets knows the feeling from Monday's 110-105 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Forward Kevin Durant drove past Ariza as his left shoe slipped off his foot, managing to finish the play with a one-handed floater.

Proper footwear is clearly overrated.
