Master P: I beat Michael Jordan in game of pickup basketball
Few can forget rapper turned businessman Master P's attempt at a professional basketball career.
However, for the man born Percy Miller, one of his most memorable matches took place at the basketball camp of NBA legend Michael Jordan.
The rapper's son Lil Romeo refused to wear Air Jordans at the camp, opting instead to wear his father's sneaker line, Master P said in an interview with Thisis50.com. Romeo complained to his father, who flew out to the camp the next day.
It was then, apparently, he challenged Jordan to a game, partnering up with Metta World Peace and Gilbert Arenas.
The next day at the game, I was like, '(My son) ain't about to take no shoes off.' They had a little game where all the pros play or whatever. When we first got into he said, 'Man, you ain't no baller. You make music.' I said, 'I make music and I play ball.' I had Gilbert Arenas. I had Metta World Peace, me and two other college players. Jordan had all pros playing with him.
Despite Jordan apparently having a stacked squad, Master P said his team reigned victorious.
"It was like a real street game. Then at the end we won," continued Miller. "I turned all the way up. It was cool. Ever since then we been friends."
Sure, Master P. Sure.
