Wiggins, Towns lead Wolves to gritty win over Bulls
Youth is served.
Led by Andrew Wiggins' 31 points and Karl-Anthony Towns' 17 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocks, the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Chicago Bulls on the road, 102-93 in overtime Saturday.
These young Wolves are learning on the job. They held Chicago scoreless in the extra frame, the first time the Bulls franchise has ever been shut out in overtime - and only the 13th time in NBA history.
While Wiggins flirted with his NBA career-high mark in points (33), the defense exhibited by he and Towns was even more crucial to the victory.
The Bulls shot 1-of-17 in the last 10 minutes of the game, and while Wiggins cooled after leading the way with a hot hand offensively, the Wolves got big buckets late from veterans like Tayshaun Prince - here brilliantly assisted by Towns:
Towns' play had other prominent NBA players taking notice, as he joined even more prominent company.
