It's a nice moment for Duncan, who teamed up with Robinson in his first six seasons. They formed the fearsome "Twin Towers" frontcourt that blazed through the playoffs with a combined record of 14-2 in the 1999 NBA Finals for the Spurs' first championship.
They did it for a second time in 2003, Robinson's final season.
The accomplishment also speaks to the Spurs' long history of success. They had George Gervin to carry them through the '70s, Robinson through the '80s, and Duncan for the past two decades. Their sustained success puts them in a tier with the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers in an elite class of the best franchises in the NBA.
Duncan has 2,955 blocks to Robinson's 2,954.
