Hornets' Kaminsky thinks MJ could beat him 1-on-1
When the Charlotte Hornets turned down a bountiful draft-night package - which reportedly included four first-round picks - so that they could draft big man Frank Kaminsky this summer, they probably hoped they were getting a guy who could outplay their 52-year-old owner.
Kaminsky, though, doesn't seem to think he can do that.
Asked on The Dan Patrick Show whether he felt he could beat Michael Jordan in a game of one-on-one, Kaminsky answered, "No. I wouldn't want to try."
Here's how the rest of the exchange played out:
Patrick: You don't want to beat one of your heroes. Is that what you're saying?
Kaminsky: No. I'm actually saying the opposite. I don't want to lose.
Patrick: Now, he thinks he could beat you.
Kaminsky: I think he could beat me, too.
For as much as Jordan tends to buy into his own mythos - he's previously maintained that he could still beat several Hornets players in one-on-one - the Hall of Famer would probably prefer to see a bit more confidence from the rookie he's invested so much in.
