Rudy Gobert: Suffers tailbone contusion in Monday's loss
Gobert left Monday's loss to the Thunder in the fourth quarter due to a tailbone contusion and didn't return, the Associated Press reports. He finished with 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one steal, and five turnovers in 25 minutes.
Analysis:
Gobert had played over 36 minutes in each of his previous three games since returning from a sprained ankle, but saw his playing time reduced significantly Monday once the new injury surfaced. The ailment doesn't sound especially worrisome, however, and Gobert's extended absence in the second half likely had a lot to do with the Jazz trailing by 20 points after three quarters. The expectation is that Gobert will be ready to assume his normal minutes load when the Jazz take the court again Wednesday against the Clippers, when he'll be asked to match up with DeAndre Jordan.
