Harden's 40 points not enough as Rockets lose 7th in 8 tries
Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports
James Harden's fourth 40-point game of the season went for naught Wednesday as the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Rockets 102-93, dealing Houston its third straight loss and seventh in eight games.
It was the first time the Rockets lost this season when Harden dropped 40 or more. The Beard shot 63.2 percent from the floor and was a perfect 11-of-11 from the free-throw line, but nobody else on Houston's roster scored more than 13. Even with Harden's scorching field-goal percentage, the Rockets shot only 42.3 percent as a team.
Apparently the team's "mini training camp" did not pay early dividends.
Jeff Green led the way for the Grizzlies with 20 points.
