Damian Lillard questionable vs. Mavs with apparent case of food poisoning
Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard is questionable for Tuesday's bout against the Dallas Mavericks after exiting Monday's game with stomach cramps.
Lillard told Blazers digital reporter Casey Holdahl afterwards that something he ate made him feel extremely sick.
"I just felt weak," Lillard said. "I tried to play through it just to see if I could get myself going. I had never felt like that, turning and running in different directions I wasn't comfortable, the stomach pain, I felt like at one point I was going to throw up on the court,"
Lillard won't have much time to recuperate, however, as the Trail Blazers host the Mavericks on the second game of a back-to-back. He sounded unsure of his status after Monday's loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
"If I'm good enough I'll play, but I can't go out there the way I was tonight," Lillard said.
Missing a game would be a first for Lillard, who hasn't sat one out since entering the league in 2012 - a run of 264 consecutive regular-season games.
The Blazers have slumped since a 4-2 start to the season, losing nine of their last 12 and dropping to 17th in net rating.
Lillard leads the team in points (24.3), assists (6.8), and minutes (36.4) per game.
