In addition to hosting Kobe Bryant's final game in his hometown, the Philadelphia 76ers honored the late Moses Malone during halftime of their game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.
The Sixers also announced they'll retire Malone's number 2 next season, somewhat vexing in the fact it wasn't already done. The Hall of Fame center retired from the NBA in 1995.
Malone, who died in September at the age of 60, spent five of his 21 professional seasons in Philly, where he averaged 21 points and 12 rebounds. He also won a championship with the team in 1983.
That title - the last of three in franchise history - must feel like a lifetime ago to those who enjoyed it, as today's Sixers have lost 145 of their last 182 games, including the first 18 games of this season.
