Ankle sprain to keep Warriors' Barnes out at least 4 more games
It's hard to complain when you're 21-0, but the Golden State Warriors will have to continue making do without their starting small forward for at least another week.
Harrison Barnes, who's missed the last four games with a sprained left ankle, will remain sidelined for the next four, and be re-evaluated next Sunday upon the team returns home from its seven-game road trip, reports Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle.
According to Simmons, the Warriors say Barnes is making progress, despite the extended layoff.
The fourth-year swingman - who will be a restricted free agent at season's end - was off to a career-best start before getting injured, averaging 13.4 points and five rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from 3-point range. He'd also played in 205 consecutive games (including playoffs) before going down.
The Warriors will try to remain unbeaten Sunday night against the Brooklyn Nets, who will also be without their starting small forward. After that, they'll round out the Barnes-less road trip with games against the Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics, and Milwaukee Bucks.
