Curry after Warriors' 1st loss: '33 was within our grasp'

Following the Golden State Warriors' first loss of the season, reigning league MVP Stephen Curry reflected on the team's record streak to start the year.

"33 was within our grasp," Curry said in reference to the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers' record winning streak.

The Warriors finished their streak with 28 consecutive wins, with four of them coming at the end of last season. Had Golden State won Saturday night against the Milwaukee Bucks, they would've still had the opportunity to tie the Lakers' record against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas Day.

Fatigue clearly played a factor in the Warriors' defeat Saturday, as the team was finishing up a seven-game road trip, had just come off a double-overtime victory in Boston Friday, and arrived in Milwaukee around 3:30 a.m.

Despite the loss, Curry had another great game, finishing with 28 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

The Warriors now go home to face the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night, where they will perhaps look to begin another record streak.
