Dwight Howard shoots down rumors he's unhappy in H-Town
Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard isn't happy with reports claiming he is unhappy.
"I haven't said anything to anybody about anything," Howard said in response to media reports Tuesday that suggested he wanted to be traded, according to the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen.
"People make up lies and rumors," he said. "That's never been my focus. I'm trying to get (my teammates) to play better and get myself to play better."
The Rockets have dropped two straight winnable games, falling two games under .500. After missing 41 games last year with knee issues, Howard is averaging 12.6 points, the lowest since his rookie season. He's also taking a career-low 8.3 shots per game.
"People are going to say what they got to say to get a story out," Howard added. "People are always going to come up with some rumor and lies. That’s what it is. I can’t focus on that. And I don’t want my teammates to focus on that."
