Lakers' Randle to miss first game of season vs. Thunder
Going up against the NBA's second-best rebounding team Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers will be in rough shape attacking the glass without their leading rebounder in the lineup.
Sophomore big man Julius Randle won't be suiting up for the Lakers at Staples Center against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to an ankle injury.
The Kentucky product "tweaked" his ankle against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, although it was believed at the time that the injury wasn't serious.
He then tested his ankle prior to tipoff on Wednesday, but ultimately determined it wasn't good enough to compete.
Randle is averaging a near double-double of 11.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in 27.4 minutes per game for the 5-23 Lakers, who are looking to string together back-to-back wins for the first time this season against Kevin Durant and company.
