Pelicans trade Ish Smith to Sixers for draft picks
The New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly closing in on a trade that would send Ish Smith to the Philadelphia 76ers, sources told ESPN's Marc Stein.
The Pelicans would reportedly receive two future second-round draft picks in the deal.
Philadelphia has yet to solidify its starting point guard spot this season, with T.J. McConnell, Tony Wroten, and Kendall Marshall all getting cracks at the role.
Armed with ample cap space, Sixers naturally have the ability to take in Ish Smith in exchange for draft pick compensation

Smith played for the Sixers during the 2014-15 season, averaging 12 points and 6.1 assists in 25 contests. This year, the 27-year-old is averaging 8.9 points and 5.7 assists.
At 9-19, the Pelicans have been a huge disappointment after reaching the playoffs last year. It now appears likely the team will try to rebuild this season in hopes of making the postseason in 2016-17.
