Report: Utah's Alec Burks to miss a minimum of 6 weeks with ankle fracture
Utah Jazz shooting guard Alec Burks will miss at least the next six weeks with an ankle fracture, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
The 24-year-old suffered the injury in Saturday night's loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Burks was enjoying a solid season prior to the fracture, averaging 14.3 points and shooting 38.7 percent from three.
Rodney Hood - Utah's starting shooting guard - should see extended playing time with Burks out. Hood is averaging 12.1 points this season, yet shooting just 41.9 percent from the field and 31.5 percent from three.
Utah is already without one of their key players, Rudy Gobert, who has been sidelined indefinitely with an MCL sprain. The Jazz are in the midst of a rough patch, losing six of their last eight contests, and are at risk of falling out a postseason spot.
