DeMarcus Cousins scores career-high 56 points in 2OT loss to Hornets
The most productive game of DeMarcus Cousins' career wasn't enough to lift his Sacramento Kings to victory on Monday night.
"Boogie" scored a career-high and franchise-best 56 points on an insane 21-of-30 shooting, including 13-of-16 from the charity stripe, as the Kings fell 129-128 to the Charlotte Hornets in double overtime.
This performance came days after he dropped 48 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in an 11-point win over the Indiana Pacers, making him just the fourth player in the last 30 years (Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, and Antawn Jamison) to put up back-to-back outings with at least 45 points and 10 rebounds.
It's also the most points scored by a player in a losing effort since Kobe Bryant had 58 against the Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets) in 2006.
