PHOTO: Clippers replace Josh Smith in-arena banner with Austin Rivers'
Entering Friday's contest against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Josh Smith's Houston Rockets had won three of their last four.
During that period, Smith averaged 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.5 blocks.
While those are likely numbers the Los Angeles Clippers had hoped he'd produce as a member of the southern Californian ball club, Smith never found his niche in Doc Rivers' rotation.
And so, 12-year veteran was sent back to Houston, and both parties appear to have moved on.

As part of the divorce, any remnants of the "J-Smoove" era have been removed inside the Staples Center.
The in-arena banner that once displayed Smith's face has now been replaced by a head shot of Doc's son, backup point guard Austin Rivers.
While some wonder why the younger Rivers' face was not thrown up on the stadium's walls earlier - he has been a member of the team for more than a calendar year by now while Smith joined the squad six months later - others long for the Los Angeles Lakers' championship banners beneath the Clippers' signs.
I cannot believe Austin Rivers up in the rafters over a real championship banner. I hate the clippers but I might hate Doc more. JEEEEZ
