Kings' Cousins won't play vs. Bucks
Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins won't play in Monday's contest against the Milwaukee Bucks, according to Yahoo's Marc J. Spears.
Cousins injured his ankle during Saturday's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies after Marc Gasol rolled onto his leg in a scramble for a loose ball. Cousins stayed down in obvious pain before being helped off the floor by trainers.
Fortunately, X-rays on Cousins' ankle were negative.
The 25-year-old Cousins is enjoying his best season to date with averages of 27 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.4 blocks in 34.1 minutes per game. After some initial struggles, Cousins adapted to George Karl's up-tempo offense, and has responded with a monstrous month in January during which he's topped the 30-point plateau nine times.
Karl will likely start Kosta Koufos in Cousins' absence.
