Report: Clippers nearing deal for Channing Frye

The Los Angeles Clippers and Orlando Magic are reportedly nearing a deal that would send Channing Frye to L.A., according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
However, Wojnarowski adds the Clippers are holding off on completing the deal for now, with Los Angeles set to give Orlando its final word on Wednesday.
Frye remains a significant target for several teams, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, sources tell @TheVertical.

Lance Stephenson, C.J. Wilcox, and a second-round pick could be shipped to Florida in the proposed transaction. If that's indeed the return, the Magic would waive or buy out Stephenson, the Orlando Sentinel's Josh Robbins reports.
Pursuing Frye makes sense for the Clippers, as the veteran big man would fill the gaping hole in their frontcourt that was created when Blake Griffin broke his hand - and was suspended - shortly after the team traded Josh Smith.
A 10-year veteran, Frye remains a potent 3-point specialist from the power forward position, knocking down 39.7 percent of his long-range attempts in 17 minutes per game for the Magic this season. The 32-year-old comes with some defensive drawbacks, though, but that shouldn't be much of a concern for a Clippers team that ranks in the top eight in defensive efficiency.
