Warriors fastest team to 50 wins in NBA history after dispatching Hawks

The 2015-16 campaign continues to be a Mary Poppins bag of milestones for the Golden State Warriors.
On Monday, the defending champions notched their 50th victory, making them the first team in NBA history to achieve that mark through 55 games.

In typical Dubs fashion, a collection of contributors were led by Stephen Curry as they defeated the Atlanta Hawks 102-92.
"The Baby-Faced Assassin" finished with a tidy 36 points on 14-for-22 shooting (going 5-for-11 from beyond the arc), along with eight assists, six rebounds, and three steals.

Curry was feeling it all night, and wasn't shy about it as he helped his squad get to at least 50 wins in a season for the third consecutive year.

The Hawks did make things interesting, mounting a 28-6 run at one point and even taking a one-point lead into the final stanza. However, Curry and Co. were not to be denied on this night.
The iconic 1995-96 Chicago Bulls - whose unparalleled 72-10 record is what the Warriors have been chasing all season - reached 50 wins after 56 games.
