Kings' Rondo out vs. Clippers with thumb injury, listed day to day

Sacramento Kings point guard and NBA assist leader Rajon Rondo will miss just his third game of the season when the Kings take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night.
Rondo tweaked his right thumb in Wednesday's loss to the San Antonio Spurs, and underwent X-rays earlier Friday. They came back negative, but the Kings are nonetheless holding Rondo out as a precaution. He's being listed as day to day.
Rondo has registered at least 15 assists in five of his last seven games, and is averaging a career-high 12 in his first season in Sacramento.
The Kings beat the Clippers the last time the two teams met. They come into Friday's game sitting four games out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
