Clippers' Rivers expected to return from broken hand Wednesday vs. Thunder
Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers' return to action following a broken left hand may be just around the corner, as he's been cleared for contact and is expected to play in Wednesday's matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Rivers broke the hand during a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Feb. 3, with the timetable for his recovery originally estimated at four-to-six weeks.
"I've been shooting for the past week, been doing a lot of shooting, a ton of therapy every day, hours of therapy every day," Rivers said Sunday, according to the OC Register's Dan Woike. "It feels strong. I'm a quick healer. I'm very fortunate."
"My shot feels great. I feel like I have good wind, but I just want to get back with the team. I’m ready to get back."
Rivers is averaging 8.1 points on 43.8 percent shooting, along with 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 46 appearances this season for Los Angeles.
