Alec Burks (ankle) is expected to return in the near future
Burks (ankle) is expected to return in the near future, but the Jazz haven't revealed a possible target date for the injured guard, Jody Genessy of the Deseret News reports.
Analysis:
Though the Jazz never announced a timetable for Burks' return after he underwent surgery to repair a fractured left fibula on Dec. 29, the expectation within the organization was that the 24-year-old would be sidelined for eight-to-10 weeks. We've now reached the low end of that timetable, so unless Burks has suffered any setbacks along the way during his recovery, it's conceivable that he'll be back by mid-March. Updates from the Jazz on Burks' activities have been scarce thus far, so his eventual return to action may not come with much prior notice.
