Sonny Weems' bid for an NBA comeback has fallen short.
Weems was waived by the Phoenix Suns on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports.
The 29-year-old joined the Suns last summer on a two-year, $6-million contract after posting several dominant seasons in Europe. The uber-athletic shooting guard was expected to bolster the bench.
Weems, however, failed to produce. He posted per-36 minute averages of 7.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and four assists across 36 appearances.
