Warriors establish best record in NBA history through 70 games
The Golden State Warriors got a bit of a scare from the youthful Minnesota Timberwolves, but came out of the Twin Cities with a 109-104 victory Monday night.
With the win, the Warriors have a 63-7 record, which is the best record through 70 games in NBA history. The historical franchise they have been most compared to, the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, were 62-8 after 70. That keeps the Dubs ahead of them in their pursuit of breaking the all-time record of 72-10 with 12 games remaining.

After an off-night in Saturday's loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Stephen Curry was again a little more human Monday, scoring 19 points and dishing out 11 assists. Draymond Green led the Dubs with 24 points and nine rebounds. Klay Thompson had an odd night, finishing with 17 points, all but two free throws coming from outside.
The Warriors also became only the second team in NBA history to hit 900 3-pointers in a season, and the third team in league history to go 70 games without consecutive losses.
