Nets go on 14-3 run in final 5 minutes to shock Cavaliers
If anyone is wondering about LeBron James' happiness lately, consider that his Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the 20-51 Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night.
The Nets used a 14-0 run to win the game, 104-95. The Cavaliers' only basket in the final six minutes was a meaningless Jordan McRae 3-pointer with nine seconds left. Brook Lopez led the Nets with 22 points, moving past Vince Carter for second on the franchise's all-time scoring list.
James had a game-high 30 points scored on an efficient 16 shots, racking up half his points in the third quarter. However, frustration set in when he was shut out in the fourth.
Kevin Love shot 5-of-14 from the floor, finishing with 11 points and 12 rebounds. The Cavaliers were 10-for-38 from deep in the contest.
"Tonight we took a step backwards and we can’t afford to do that late in the season like this," James told reporters afterwards.
