76ers sign Christian Wood to 10-day contract, waive Sonny Weems

The Philadelphia 76ers have called up big man Christian Wood from the D-League's Delaware 87ers and signed him to a 10-day contract, the team announced Sunday.

To create a roster spot, the 76ers waived forward Sonny Weems.

Wood is averaging a near double-double of 17.3 points and 9.4 rebounds on 52.9 percent shooting in 32 appearances for the 87ers.

Weems played seven games for the Sixers after they claimed him off waivers on March 7, and averaged 2.4 points and 1.7 rebounds as a reserve.
