Sam Hinkie lost 20 pounds stressing over 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers' lack of success to begin the 2015-16 regular season was causing general manager Sam Hinkie to wither away behind the scenes.
"For sure. I lost 20 pounds (from stress) from November to January," Hinkie said during Zach Lowe's "The Lowe Post" podcast when asked whether he cared about his team tying the worst record in NBA history.
"This is serious for our fans, for our staff, for our players. You want to perform. You want to meet expectations. You want to play well, and you want to deliver. You want to tamp down all the noise that comes with a record, or a streak, or those kinds of things. Because they're not productive to some larger mission."
The 1972-73 Sixers ended their campaign at 9-73. They won one of their first 22 outings, and finished the season on a 13-game losing skid.
This year's squad began the season losing their first 18 games, and 28 dating back to 2014-15. It wasn't until Dec. 1 against the Los Angeles Lakers when they actually came out victorious.
Philadelphia currently sits at 9-68, needing to win one of their final five games to avoid tying the dishonorable mark.

"Let's win out if we can," Hinkie said. "I suspect we can."
