A pair of Stony Brook players are facing felony charges after they allegedly broke into a student's car and stole his $5,000 tax refund, school officials confirmed to Tina Moore of the New York Post.
Javreel Miller, 23, contends that the Seawolves' RayShaun McGrew and DeShaun Thrower broke into his car and stole the $5,000 tax refund he had just cashed. Miller says the money was sitting in his car because he went to class immediately after receiving it.
McGrew, a senior, and Thrower, a sophomore, were charged with third-degree grand larceny and third-degree criminal mischief.
McGrew averaged 10.6 points and six rebounds per game this season, while Thrower contributed 1.9 points per game.
