Watch: Villanova's Arcidiacono, Ochefu surprise child who has cancer
Ryan Arcidiacono and Daniel Ochefu aren't done making people smile.
After helping Villanova win a national title, the Wildcats duo made a stop Wednesday at the house of a young boy from Philadelphia who was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a rare bone cancer, in February.
Blaise Davis and his Villanova graduate parents, Andrew and Annie, were expecting to see a recently finished playroom, and never thought Ochefu and Arcidiacono would greet them inside.
"A week ago they're on national television winning the biggest game ever, and then here they are, sitting in my basement," Andrew told ESPN's Dana O'Neil. "(Villanova coach) Jay (Wright) always says, 'Stay hungry and humble.' This has been the most humbling experience."
The surprise was organized by Tim Moore, a family friend and contractor who the Davises asked to convert their basement into a playroom.
The players passed on an opportunity to share their gesture, simply saying it "was the right thing to do." But Annie wanted to let everyone know about their experience.
"They literally did this to meet a 4-year-old who loves watching basketball," she said. "To see Blaise's face, look at that house and then see those guys, that's a memory that will last a lifetime. That's a story that needs to be told."
Blaise has already undergone several rounds of chemotherapy and is scheduled to undergo surgery in May with a six-to-nine-month recovery time.
