As statements from teams outside the Power 5 continue to pour in expressing interest in Big 12 expansion, Texas president Greg Fenves is prepared to back Houston.
Fenves took to Twitter Thursday to endorse the in-state AAC school in consideration for expansion.
As we look at opportunities for Big 12 expansion, I support considering @UHouston for the conference. UH is a huge asset for Texas.

The inclusion of Houston into the Big 12 would certainly strengthen a rivalry between the Longhorns and the Cougars, likely amounting to nothing but good things for college football.
Houston was also endorsed by Texas governor Greg Abbott on Thursday, making it two prominent figures within the state supporting Houston's legitimacy for a Power 5 bid.
