Report: 4-star F Derek Culver commits to West Virginia
West Virginia has added a 4-star recruit for the class of 2017, as forward Derek Culver has committed to the Mountaineers.
Culver's high school coach Andy Vlajkovich believed West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins showed the most interest in Culver from the beginning of his recruiting process, according to Jeff Borzello of ESPN.
"It was the intensity of the recruitment from West Virginia, the relationship with [coach Bob Huggins]," said Vlajkovich. "He was a priority for Huggs and the staff from West Virginia did a really good job. They stood out, they came in first and they came [at him] the hardest."
The four-star recruit out of Warren G. Harding high school in Warren, Ohio had also drawn interest from Connecticut, Indiana, Kansas, Marquette, Purdue, and Xavier before committing to the Mountaineers.
Culver is ranked 78th on the ESPN 100 list for the 2017 recruiting class.
