Deontae Hawkins isn't starting his 2016 season off on the right foot. In fact, it is unclear when he will be starting it at all.
The Illinois State forward, who was suspended in August for a violation of team rules, has been suspended indefinitely yet again after being charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol, and driving with a suspended license, according to The Pantagraph, citing McLean County court records.
Hawkins was arrested early Sunday morning and officially charged Monday. He averaged 10.3 points and 5.8 rebounds in 24.9 minutes last season.
Hawkins is scheduled to attend a pretrial hearing set for Nov. 17.
