Missouri's Mitchell Smith: Out for season with ACL injury
Smith (knee) will miss the remainder of the season after suffering an ACL injury Wednesday against LSU, Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis:
The freshman was scheduled for an MRI almost immediately after Wednesday's game in order to determine the severity of the injury, and it has since been confirmed that he suffered a season-ending ACL injury. Given the timing of his injury, there is some reason for optimism that Smith will be ready for the start of the 2017-18 season. Smith will undergo surgery to repair his ACL in the near future.
