USC, UCLA set for marquee rematch at Pauley Pavilion

Kelvin Kuo / USA TODAY Sports

Two of the Pac-12’s top teams will square off Pauley Pavilion this Saturday. Both USC and UCLA have already topped 20 wins and are locks for the NCAA Tournament, but expect UCLA to play with some extra motivation.

Earlier this season, USC defeated UCLA 84-76 at the Galen Center. The two teams engaged in an even contest, but USC made 14 3-pointers compared to just six for UCLA. Shaqquan Aaron led all scorers with 23 points while Elijah Stewart chipped in 15 points. Lorenzo Ball scored 15 points, grabbed ten rebounds, and four assists.

Expect a bigger effort from Ball in this game. UCLA is 12-1 at home this year, and the Bruins’ quest for a 13th win at Pauley Pavilion is generating big ticket prices on the resale market. Per search engine TicketIQ, UCLA tickets against USC are averaging $236. That makes it the fourth-priciest game in Los Angeles this season. Take a look at where this weekend’s matchup ranks among UCLA’s priciest games this season below:

According to TicketIQ the average ticket price for UCLA home basketball games this season is $107, so Saturday’s contest, in terms of get-in ticket prices, is hitting a record high. The two colleges engage in highly entertaining battles across all sports, but the basketball tilts are especially important. With NCAA seeding on the line, expect both teams to deliver big efforts on both ends. Of note, expect Ball to put up a big effort.
