A felony arrest warrant has been issued for Creighton guard Maurice Watson Jr., who will be charged with first-degree sexual assault, a police spokesperson said Thursday evening, according to Josh Planos of KETV.
Reports emerged Thursday morning that Watson was being investigated in a sexual assault case, a day after the Bluejays suspended him for "alleged actions that are contrary to university policies and core values."
Watson, who has been sidelined with a torn ACL since January, allegedly violated a 19-year-old woman in a bathroom in early February.
The senior from Philadelphia averaged 12.9 points and 8.5 assists per game for Creighton this season.
