Virginia Tech coach Buzz Williams began Wednesday's affair versus Wake Forest in a suit.

There are no pictures to prove it but take our word for it.

He soon got hot, prompting him to shed the jacket. In doing so, Williams revealed a very odd stain around his upper left shoulder that looked to be blood:

Still bothered by the heat in his reduced outfit, Williams began "mopping" his head with a towel, according to ESPN's Dana O'Neil. He eventually removed the vest.

Halftime arrived, giving Williams time to cool off.

Williams discarded the vest for the second half, but the mysterious stain was still on his shirt. While the Hokies ran up and down the court, Williams and his odd stain was tended to by a team trainer on the bench:

It's unclear what substance was applied to Williams, but whatever it was didn't stop the Hokies bench boss from sweating. He was later seen roaming the sidelines with a towel in his hand.

This isn't the first time Williams has battled the heat, though it might be the first time he's battled a stain mid-game.
