St. John's has granted guard Malik Ellison and forward Darien Williams their releases, the school announced Wednesday.
Ellison, a sophomore, was fifth on the team in scoring, averaging 7.4 points and playing in all 33 games.
The New Jersey native will have to sit out one year due to NCAA transfer rules, but will have two years of eligibility remaining starting in 2018-19.
Williams, who will be a grad transfer, came off the bench in 24 contests last season, averaging 3.8 points and 2.6 rebounds in 11.9 minutes.
