LIU Brooklyn may not be without a head coach for very long.
The school has scheduled a news conference Tuesday where it is expected former UMass head coach Derek Kellogg will be named the next head coach of the Blackbirds, according to Jeff Goodman of ESPN, citing sources.
Goodman reports that the agreement is expected to be a five-year contract.
Kellogg served as the Minutemen's bench boss for nine seasons before being fired on March 9. Over the course of his tenure, Kellogg accumulated an overall record of 155-137, with one lone NCAA Tournament appearance in 2013-14.
