Oregon State received good news in relation to the eligibility of arguably its best scorer Tuesday, as the NCAA granted a medical hardship waiver to forward Tres Tinkle, making him a redshirt sophomore for the upcoming season, according to Danny Moran of The Oregonian.

Tinkle was a dominant force for the Beavers through the first six games of last season - his initial sophomore year - until a broken wrist on his non-shooting hand sidelined him for the remainder of the campaign. Tinkle, the son of Beavers head coach Wayne Tinkle, will retain three years of elibigility.

Tinkle will be looked upon to duplicate the brief success he had last season, as he registered three double-doubles in limited action.

The Beavers also received good news in the case of senior big man Cheikh N'diaye, as the center also received a medical hardship waiver after undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery last fall.
