Mitchell Robinson returns to Western Kentucky 1 month after leaving campus

Five-star recruit Mitchell Robinson will be attending Western Kentucky after all.

After asking for - and being granted - his release in order to transfer to another school, Robinson has instead returned to WKU and is enrolled for the fall semester.

"Mitchell officially enrolled at Western Kentucky and is back on campus," Robinson's coach at Chalmette (Louisiana) High School, Butch Stockton, told Scout.com. "We just felt like it was the best place (for him to) go and play."

Since the McDonald's All-American ultimately didn't transfer, he'll be eligible to play for the Hilltoppers this season.

Robinson had previously been handed down an indefinite suspension for a violation of team rules. He reportedly left classes after attending for two weeks and cleaned out his room.

He originally committed to the program in June 2016 after his godfather, Shammond Williams, had been hired. Williams resigned from his duties one year later.
