Jeffries' father: Kentucky 'unprofessional' in handling of decommitment
After five-star forward recruit D.J. Jeffries informed Kentucky he would be reopening his recruitment in March, the Wildcats didn't handle it well, according to his father, Corey.
"We talked with Kentucky, and it kinda shocked me," Jeffries' father said, according to ESPN's Jeff Borzello. "They were kinda unprofessional. They didn't handle the news the way I expected them to handle it, being professionals."
There are rumblings of D.J's interest in joining Memphis thanks in part to its new head coach Penny Hardaway, who the 6-foot-7 forward is familiar with after playing for his AAU program.
But did that have an effect on D.J's decision?
"It was a factor," Corey said. "We have a bond with Penny already. It's not like we have to get reacquainted with him."
