Shareef O'Neal officially enrolling at UCLA
Shareef O'Neal is officially a UCLA Bruin.
The son of Hall-of-Famer Shaquille O'Neal, Shareef will enroll in summer school on campus this month and join a talented freshman class that also includes 5-star center Moses Brown, head coach Steve Alford said in a release.
"Shareef has made great strides throughout his high school career," Alford said. "He's an outstanding addition to our incoming class and brings a terrific combination of size, skill, and athleticism. We love the length and height of this year's team, and Shareef is really going to add to that dynamic."
O'Neal's presence will be a welcome addition to the Bruins up-and-coming stable of big men, after there had been reports earlier in the summer about the 18-year-old being unable to academically qualify.
The 6-foot-10, 220 pound power forward played four years of varsity at the Crossroads school in Santa Monica, Calif. and led his team to the CIF Division two state title this past season.
